Clinical Description
Ronald Walker, M.D., FACNM, FACR, a fellow of the American College of Radiology and of the American College of Nuclear Medicine, earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed residencies in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine from Wilford Hall US Air Force Medical Center. He then served in the US Air Force until 1989 including as Chief, Nuclear Medicine Services and Staff Radiologist at Malcolm Grow US Air Force Medical Center, Andrews AFB, in Washington, DC, and as Chairperson, Department of Radiology at the 13th Air Force Medical Center, Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines. Following 13 years in private practice and 5 years in academic medicine in Arkansas, Dr. Walker joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 2007. He is currently Professor of Clinical Radiology and Radiological Sciences. Dr. Walker is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American College of Radiology, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and the American College of Nuclear Medicine. His active area of research and publishing include neuroendocrine tumors and early detection of lung cancer.
