Two-year postdoctoral positions in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center are available for individuals with an interest in comparative effectiveness, patient reported outcomes, and registry data research. One position will involve working on a PCORI-funded project, which is is a collaboration between our laboratory and investigators at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Second position will involve working on the National Neurosurgery Quality and Outcomes Database (N2QOD), which is a collaboration between our laboratory and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Individuals will have an opportunity to independently direct and manage research and/or registry activities. This will include overseeing and leading a high-level research/registry team, developing and submitting grant proposals, participating in data management activities, analyzing data, and generating manuscripts for peer-review publication. Applicants with a background in rehabilitation science, behavioral medicine, public health, epidemiology, clinical-translational, and/or health services research are preferred. Successful applicants will have experience in study design, the conduct of randomized trials and/or clinical registries, working as part of a team, excellent communication skills, and strong quantitative skills including proficiency with a statistical analysis package (STATA, SPSS, R, etc.).

Fellows must have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline. This is a full-time position. Salary is based on NIH postdoctoral trainee stipend levels.
